This piece explores the universal experience of burying parts of our past — moments, memories, and versions of ourselves that once held pain, regret, or sorrow. The graveyard represents those buried chapters, quiet and distant, yet necessary to acknowledge. In the foreground, the figure’s cracked skin, reminiscent of kintsugi, symbolizes the beauty of being pieced back together — stronger, wiser, and more luminous for having been broken. The snake draped across her shoulders is a timeless emblem of transformation, shedding old layers to make way for renewal.
The mirror invites viewers to become part of the work. By seeing their own reflection within the figure, they are reminded of their own journey — how far they’ve come, the wounds they’ve healed, and the resilience they carry. Rebirth and Reflection is both an invitation and a reminder: you are not defined by what you’ve buried but by how you’ve rebuilt yourself.
